The Java moss Taxiphyllum barbieri comes from Southeast Asia. It is vigorous and insensitive and still does very well in low-lit or shaded by higher plants corners in the aquarium. The moss grows 4-5 cm high.
It was bound on a Nanostone and develops with time to a hemisphere, which should be cut into shape from time to time. The cut shoots can be reattached and thus the moss can be easily propagated.
The Nano Java Stone can be used as a ground cover for an aquarium, it works best if several stones are placed in the foreground. The moss soon forms a coherent carpet.
You get here a strong moss, which is not contaminated with fertilizer residues or other toxins for shrimps and therefore does not need to be watered.
