Indian star plant Pogostemon erectus with a height of about 40 cm is a stem plant very suitable for the middle ground to background. Its light green fine needle-shaped leaves contrast beautifully with red or also with broad-leaved green plants.
The Indian star plant needs sufficient nutrients and CO2, if these are available, it is not difficult to cultivate.
It can be cut back easily and then develops many side shoots - so with regular pruning you get a wonderfully compact and bushy plant.
Propagation is also not complicated: Simply stick the cut shoots into the substrate. New plants will grow from these cuttings.
This Pogostemon erectus is free of algae, pathogens, snails and parasites thanks to in vitro culture. It can be immediately inserted into the aquarium without watering - only the nutrient gel should be carefully rinsed off beforehand.
