ADA - La Plata Sand

The ADA La Plata Sand from Aqua Design Amano, which has a very decorative effect in the aquarium and aquascape, is a water-neutral natural sand that does not affect the water hardness or pH in the aquarium. Its light coloration was deliberately chosen. The Godfather of aquascaping, Takashi Amano, likes to refer to this sand as cosmetic sand. With ADA La Plata Sand you can perfectly design unplanted free areas in the foreground or use it to create paths, river courses or even a beach landscape in a natural aquarium.

ADA La Plata Sand is very light, but not pure white - the color was chosen on purpose, because smaller dirt is not as disturbing as on a snow-white surface and because the off-white of the cosmetic sand does not dazzle.

Especially with darker Aqua Soil, the beautiful light La Plata sand provides a great contrast. This cosmetic sand is perfect for accentuating details in aquascape. With a grain size of 1-4 mm, these sand grains are quite fine. Incidentally, the sand is also ideal for dwarf shrimp: they love to lift grains of sand and graze on them. Areas in the aquarium can be made particularly natural by combiningthe fine La Plata Sand from Aqua Design Amano with the coarse La Plata Sand big.

Before use, ADA La Plata Sand is rinsed once with clear water. Ideally this is done in a bucket or even in an old pillowcase.

An area of fine sand in the aquarium is also an absolute must for burrowing armored catfish and digging snails. This ADA La Plata Sand has rounded grains, which greatly reduces the risk of injury to Corydoras and such.
