The Red Bee Hinomaru / No Entry is a wonderful color variation of the bee shrimp Caridina logemanni. Hinomaru refers to a pattern with a large red dot on the white abdomen - this name is based on the Japanese flag, which is also called Hinomaru. In the No Entry variant, this large red dot has a white horizontal stripe, which makes it look like a No Entry sign - just "No Entry" in English. Furthermore the Red Bee Hinomaru and No Entry have a red head marking and a smaller red dot just before the tail fan. Ideally, the legs are also red and white in color.
The bulbous females grow to 3 to 3.5 inches long in bee shrimp, while the males remain somewhat slimmer and also slightly smaller.
The Red Bee Hinomaru / No Entry was bred out of the red bee shrimp by selective breeding. Originally the red bee shrimp or Crystal Red originates from the black bee shrimp from Hong Kong, it was further bred and refined in Japan. As a high breeding shrimp, the Red Bee Hinomaru / No Entry has a high color quality and color density.
Like all relatives and breeding variants of the bee shrimp Caridina logemanni from South China, the Red Bee Hinomaru / No Entry needs rather cooler, slightly acidic and soft water with as little water pollution as possible. The Red Bee Hinomaru / No Entry is a soft water shrimp and does not tolerate hard or medium hard tap water. It needs soft water with a carbonate hardness as low as possible. For this beautiful breeding form of the Caridina logemanni "Red" osmosis water combined with mineral salt for bee shrimp has proven to be ideal, which you can of course also buy here in our online store.
In addition, active Soil for shrimp buffers the water values in a soft range, which is optimal for bee shrimp. Active Soil has proven itself over many years with keepers and breeders of Caridina logemanni. It is also possible to keep the Red Bee Hinomaru / No Entry Dwarf Shrimp in an aquarium with neutral aquarium gravel or sand as substrate, more stable is an aquarium with Soil thanks to its natural buffer function.
For socialization with the Red Bee Hinomaru / No Entry, peaceful small fish for soft water such as Boraras are suitable in sufficiently large aquariums. For snails, the soft water in the bee shrimp aquarium is rather too low in minerals. As a clean-up troop, you could use shiny worms, for example. However, Red Bee Hinomaru / No Entry Dwarf Shrimp tend not to reproduce quite as strongly in the aquarium, which is why they would also do well in a pure shrimp aqu arium, i.e. in a species tank. Socializing Red Bee Hinomaru / No Entry shrimp with crayfish and dwarf crabs, predatory snails, crabs and mussels is not advisable - due to different water requirements, potential attacks and not well-matched feeding habits, these socializations do not work very well.
Red Bee Hinomaru / No Entry Dwarf Shrimp look especially nice in planted aquariums. Also for a specific color breeding or the further breeding with other bee shrimps, with Taiwang shrimps or Caridina hybrids this great Caridina logemanni is well suitable. A socialization with Black Bees, other Red Bees, Caridina cantonensis, Caridina mariae (tiger shrimp) or other soft water shrimp is possible with the Red Bee Hinomaru / No Entry, but you have to consider that the strains and color strokes mix and hybrids can occur - which can lead to interesting new colors.
Asinitial stocking for the aquarium we recommend a group of at least 10 Red Bee Hinomaru / No Entry dwarf shrimp.
As an omnivore, the Red Bee Hinomaru / No Entry dwarf shrimp is not difficult to feed: brown autumn leaves are an excellent permanent food for all shrimp in the aquarium. A predominantly plant-based staple diet works well for this Caridina logemanni, and once or twice a week you should feed Red Bee Hinomaru / No Entry dwarf shrimp a suitable protein shrimp food that will help them meet their protein needs.
In an aquarium for Red Bee Hinomaru / No Entry Caridinas a weekly water change of 10 to 30% has proven to be effective. You do not need an aquarium heater, but an aquarium cooling can be useful for the hot summer months . Temperatures permanently above 25 °C are not well tolerated by bee shrimp.
If kept under good conditions in the aquarium, bee shrimp like the Red Bee Hinomaru / No Entry reproduce properly. The females maintain 20 to 40 eggs under their abdomen until the hatching of the young after three to four weeks. In the early days, the fry of the bee shrimp are relatively sedentary, so during this time they need a good dust food distributed throughout the aquarium so that they all get some.
Our food recommendation: NatureHolic's soft mainfeed softpads are designed for daily feeding. They contain all the nutrients shrimp need for shell development, egg formation and growth. During the production we pay attention to a gentle and environmentally friendly production, in which the vitamins and other valuable ingredients are preserved as far as possible.
Our plant recommendation: Use for planting NatureHolic InVitros. These are free of snails, planaria and other unwanted co-inhabitants. Also free of algae spores, bacteria and fungi.
Expert Tip: We recommend for fish keeping the NatureHolic 3 Phase Liquid. The care set offers the best all-round protection for your animals. It ensures optimal conditions for successful breeding and keeping.
