"Real" Rotala - Rotala indica , In-Vitro

As Ammania spec. bonsai this novelty became known, but it is the "real" Rotala indica. For decades this name was wrongly used as a synonym for Rotala rotundifolia. Unlike Rotala rotundifolia, the differences between the emersed and submerged leaves of this plant are barely visible. The oval to circular leaflets are densely packed on the stem and give a very ornamental appearance. The always upright growth results in interesting design possibilities. Also the slow growth favors a placement in the front area and in the middle zone of an underwater landscape. A freestanding group in a Hemianthus carpet is particularly impressive.
