A beautiful small remaining rosette plant for low to medium light aquariums is Cryptocoryne x willisii "Pigmea", also called Willis' dwarf water lily. In this pure green species the leaves are relatively long and narrow, it does not grow taller than about 5 cm. This makes this dwarf Cryptocoryne excellent for example to loosen up lawn plantings in the foreground of the aquarium or to set accents in the middle ground of nano aquariums. Also in the middle ground in the shade of roots or higher stem plants this Cryptocoryne looks very nice.
Since Cryptocoryne x willisii "Pigmea" forms runners, propagation is quite easy - cut off daughter plant and replant, that's it.
This dwarf water carnation can also be grown emersely, i.e. above the water level, for example in a paludarium, waterfall aquarium or aquaterrarium, but also in a planted wetland terr arium. Above water, Cryptocoryne x willisii "Pigmea" grows slightly larger than the underwater form.
InVitro plants are grown from cell tissue, so they are algae-free, snail-free, and also parasite-free. Pesticide use is not necessary, so InVitro aquarium plants may be planted directly - rinse nutrient gel from the roots and off into the aquarium.
Our recommendation: For a splendid plant growth we recommend the Premium Nutrient Substrate for new setups NatureHolic GroundBooster
