On the moss forms microorganisms which provide for a decomposition of pollutants such as nitrite and ammonia and therefore perform a good service to keep the water clean.
Shrimps, snails and crayfish like to sit on the fine moss, so it provides an ideal hotspot in the tank.
The carefully hand-imprinted surface structure allows the moss to get a good foothold and grow quickly and well.
