The Shrimpshelter is suitable as a hiding place for several dwarf shrimps or also for dwarf crayfish. Due to the openings on both sides, weaker or smaller animals can always escape well and are not cornered. The Shrimpshelter is made of clay and was professionally covered with Aegagropila linnaei. This short-filament green algae is the same one so well known from the popular algae balls or moss balls. Its green roof makes the Shrimpshelter look distinctly natural, making it fit very well into a planted aquarium.
The short filaments of Aegagropila and the slightly porous clay surface provide ideal colonization areas for beneficial bacteria and other microorganisms and create proper space for large colonies. These biofilms are very readily grazed by shrimp, and the bacteria also ensure the breakdown of organic pollutants in the water, thus ensuring good water quality.
The Shrimpshelter is carefully hand stocked with Aegagropila and is made of water neutral, high quality fired clay.
Size of the Shrimpshelter: approx. 3,5 x 5 x 10 cm
The Shrimpshelter is additionally available with Javamoos or Christmasmoos tied on.
