from over 3,000 reviews "The great Crusta Igloo is a great eye-catcher in the aquarium and already covered with Christmas moss. With this great hiding place you treat your dwarf crabs and dwarf shrimps, but also smaller fish a great retreat, which they like to use to take a breather. Especially shrimp and crayfish need a place to hide during their vital but critical molting phase until the new shell has hardened.
The great coco cave cuts a classy figure when decorated directly between other aquatic plants but even on its own it will soon be conquered. Baby shrimps also like to hide between the dense shoots of the Christmas moss after hatching and find food at the fir-tailed branched moss tips. Dusty food can also be placed on top of the moss and will not swim around uncontrolled in the aquarium.
From time to time the Christmas can be trimmed, because it just keeps growing on the Crusta Igloo. To do this, pluck off a few shoots with your fingers or use sharp scissors. Then it is glued or tied onto other hardscape. In this way it can be propagated very easily.
The Crusta Igloo provides the perfect substrate also for beneficial microorganisms that break down pollutants in the water. Biofilms form on the porous surface, which are mainly nibbled off by snails and shrimps. Christmas moss is easy to care for and does not require additional nutrients. Every now and then you should lift the Crusta Igloo and vacuum off the mulm that has formed underneath so that no gamma spots form.
Our recommendation: For a magnificent plant growth we recommend the use of the NatureHolic fertilizer series and for new set up the Premium Nutrient Substrate NatureHolic GroundBooster.
Expert tip: With the NatureHolic plant glue glue this plant gently and easily on stones, roots and decoration . Made in Germany, the adhesive does not pollute the water and has no negative impact on the stock.
