The new Pied Dwarf Spear Leaf is a cultivated form of Anubias barteri var. nana. It is known as Anubias barteri var. nana "Pinto". The Pied Dwarf Spear Leaf grows up to 8 cm high and has variegated white and green pied leaves, which makes it look especially beautiful. It is excellent for creating light spots in dark aquarium corners, as it shows its beautiful piebald pattern even under low light.
Its hard foliage ensures that most herbivores leave Anubias barteri var. nana "Pinto" alone. The Pied Dwarf Spear Leaf is a perching plant that does best when tied to hard objects such as roots or rocks. Please do not plant it, the rhizome may rot and the plant may die.
Pinto Anubias is very easy to propagate: Simply cut off a piece of the rhizome (rootstock) with two or more leaves on it and tie it on.
Anubias barteri var. nana "Pinto" also makes a pretty emersed accent in a humid terrarium or aquaterrarium .
Our recommendation: For magnificent plant growth, we recommend premium nutrient medium when setting up a new plant NatureHolic GroundBooster
Expert Tip: With the NatureHolic plant adhesive stick this plant gently and easily on stones, roots and decoration . Made in Germany, the adhesive does not pollute the water and has no negative impact on the stock.
