The Flag-tailed glass danio originates from Southeast Asia and is found in current areas. From time to time it is also called Scissorfish called. Scientifically it is called Rasbora trilineata and is also well suited for the community aquarium.
The rather elegant looking danio has a black lateral line on the silver body and spots in the caudal fin. They reach a total length of about 12 cm. With its iridescent silvery appearance, it cuts a great figure, especially among aquatic plants. Care the glass danios from an edge length of 80 cm and plant the aquarium densely in places. You can go for a dark bottom ground, then your animals come better to the fore. Also Stone structures and Rootsas well as smaller hiding places are very suitable for your favorites. With Floating plants you can shade the aquarium a bit.
The very sociable fish should be kept in a Shoal from 3 animals as well as you can keep them with other peaceful fishes like Tetras, Danios or also Catfishes keep. On Dwarf shrimps you should better do without, because these will probably supplement their diet.
If they feel comfortable, breeding is quite possible, the parents guard the clutch, from which the first young hatch after about 48 hours. These can be fed among others with freshly hatched Nauplii but also a Dust food like our Young Feed can be raised.
As a carnivore, the glass danio mainly accepts live food, but also frozen food. You can use daphnia, but also artemia as well as tubifex and mosquito larvae.
