Description

The dark blue-black-cream-white striped zebra danio from Pakistan, India and Bangladesh is scientifically called Brachydanio rerio. The males often have yellow stripes in the fins and white fin tips. This color shows only after the acclimation period.

The lively up to 6 cm small ornamental fish live in nature in stagnant or slow flowing waters, which are neatly weedy, also in rice fields. The females of the Zebrafish are somewhat more plump than the very slender males.

As an extremely swim-joyful, agile, very lively school fish the Zebrabärbling needs at least 10 Artgenossen and an accordingly large aquarium starting from 100 cm edge length, so that it can let off steam. Under good conditions the beautiful Zebrafish will live for several years. Attention, the fish jump, so they need a cover!

The breeding of the Zebrafish is very easy. Pairs are placed in separate rearing tanks with a maximum of 24 °C and caught out after spawning. The fish larvae are raised with artemia euplii.

Zebrafish do well in soft to hard water, a water temperature of about 18-25 °C is ideal, a heater is usually not required.

Since the Zebrafish is a very peaceful fish, it can be socialized very well. Possibly baby shrimp will be eaten on occasion, but not actively chased. With well reproducing species like Neocaridina davidi (for example Red Fire or Blue Dream) the coexistence in the aquarium works without problems.

Zebrafish are omnivores. Besides flake food or granulated food, the fish also like live food or frozen food. Especially for breeding this is stimulating together with a large water change with rather cool water.

Minimum order quantity: 10 pieces

Our food recommendationNatureHolic professional main feed is a professional main feed for all aquarium fish. We supply Hauptfeed in the form of a soft granulate, which thanks to its grain size of half a millimeter can be easily absorbed by small to medium-sized fish. The soft consistency resembles the texture of insect larvae in nature and protects the fish mouth from micro-injuries.

Our plant recommendation: Use for planting NatureHolic InVitros. These are free of snails, planarians and other unwanted co-inhabitants. Also free of algae spores, bacteria and fungi.

Expert Tip: We recommend for fish keeping the NatureHolic 3 Phase Liquid. The care set offers the best all-round protection for your animals. It ensures optimal conditions for successful breeding and keeping.

Dispensing size: 2-2,5cm
