from over 3,000 reviews "Ludwigias are popular stem plants in aquaristics and have been cultivated for decades. Ludwigia arcuata is native to the USA, where it colonizes wet marshes. It is considered the most ornamental species for underwater life. Its emersed stems are mostly pure green; submerged stems, however, are brownish to reddish in color. Again, the general rule is "the stronger the lighting, the more intense the color expression." When pruning, cut to the lower third; stems will sprout with many new side shoots.
