from over 3,000 reviews "C02: | without CO2 fertilization |
Type: | InVitro |
Growth rate: | slow |
Light requirements: | medium |
Basin placement: | Middle ground |
Origin: | North America |
Genus: | Lobelia |
The dwarf form of the cardinal lobelia from North America is a highly interesting aquarium plant. Its strikingly round, dense leaves and low growth habit make the dwarf cardinal lobelia, Lobelia cardinalis "Mini", look good even in smaller aquariums and nano tanks. In large tanks, this lobelia can be used to create beautiful bushes in the middle ground, and in very large tanks it even makes a suitable foreground planting. The dwarf cardinal lobelia grows only 10-15 cm high.
In low light, the plant quickly becomes yellowed, then the shoots become longer and the leaves stand further apart. Therefore, it should have at least medium light.
Lobelia cardinalis "Mini" often forms water roots at the leaf nodes. They are largely hidden by the dense foliage, but for propagation you can take advantage of the phenomenon - this way you have access to already rooted offshoots. Cut off just below the roots and plant them, it could hardly be easier.
In a garden pond that does not freeze through, the dwarf cardinal lobelia is also hardy in our area, provided it sits sufficiently deep.
This dwarf cardinal lobelia comes as an InVitro plant from a plant technology laboratory, which gives you the guarantee that nothing sits here in the cup that you do not want: There are no worms or snails, no algae or fungi, which makes pesticide use unnecessary, InVitro plants are therefore allowed in shrimp aquariums without quarantine. The culture medium should be rinsed from the roots before planting.
Our recommendation: For a splendid plant growth we recommend the use of the NatureHolic fertilizer series and for new plants the Premium Nutrient Substrate NatureHolic GroundBooster.
Expert Tip: With the NatureHolic plant adhesive you stick this plant gently and easily on stones, roots and decoration . Made in Germany, the adhesive does not pollute the water and has no negative impact on the stock.
