from over 3,000 reviews "Due to its location in Taiwan near the city of Nanjenshan, this pretty Rotala got its name. It is a medium-sized stem plant that forms green to reddish shoots and develops bushy and compact. It is therefore a good candidate for the middle ground in the aquarium. Soft water is advantageous with it.
Since it has been in the hobby for quite some time, it is now well established and impresses with its tiny elongated leaves. Provided it is exposed to very good lighting, it can also form slightly drooping stems. At one time it was confused with Mayaca sellowiana, which is a different species. It is believed that this Rotala is a natural hybrid of R. wallichii and R. rotundifolia.
This Rotala requires very good lighting and a source of CO2 to develop to its maximum, other nutrients as well as iron are also beneficial. If it is regularly trimmed and cut into shape, it will form compact and bushy with many side shoots. Especially as a retreat or hiding place for fish and shrimp, it is excellent and also a great eye-catcher. It is propagated by head cuttings, which are simply put back into the substrate. In this way, plant colonies can be quickly compacted.
Since the Rotala "Nanjenshan" was cultivated sterile in the plant laboratory, it does not surprise with stowaways such as algae, snails, parasites or germs. It is also free of pesticides or other plant protection products, so it can be used directly in the shrimp aquarium without complications. The culture medium is rinsed off under running water before planting so that the root system is exposed.
Our recommendation: For a magnificent plant growth we recommend the use of the NatureHolic fertilizer series and for new set up the Premium Nutrient Substrate NatureHolic GroundBooster.
Expert Tip: With the NatureHolic plant glue glue this plant gently and easily on stones, roots and decoration . Made in Germany, the adhesive does not pollute the water and has no negative impact on the stock.
