Alternanthera reineckii 'Pink' is originally from South America and with its purple underside makes an effective contrast to the many green plants, especially when planted in groups. High light intensity enhances the red coloration of the leaves. It is easy to propagate by planting the head cuttings in the bottom soil. This also gives the mother plant a bushier appearance, as it subsequently forms several new side shoots.
