Widely distributed in Asia, the stem plant Flowering stemless marsh friend (Limnophila sessiliflora) used to be common in the hobby as "Ambulia". Under water, this marsh friend has beautiful fresh green, finely textured pinnate leaves that form rusty brown shoot tips under good light. Very nice this fine stem plant is suitable for group planting. It grows to a height of about 50 cm, making it best suited for the background of larger aquariums.
Limnophila sessiliflora is a very good alternative to the more demanding Cabomba. An additional fertilization with CO2 is not needed, but does not harm either. Please remove the terracotta ring before planting and stick the stems into the substrate with some distance.
The flowering stemless marsh friend grows quickly and thus competes with unwanted algae.
Energetic pruning Limnophila sessiliflora tolerates very well, it then becomes very bushy and continues to grow compactly.
To propagate, simply stick a few cut shoots of the Flowering Stemless Swamp Dogfish into the soil. They quickly sprout roots and grow.
