Red Bee Shrimp K6-8 - DNZ Caridina logemanni "Red Bee"
These absolutely attractive pattern variations of the Red Bee shrimp are very popular. Their varied pattern makes them so pretty and so individual. Especially in green planted aquariums they are an eye catcher. In soft water (which - if the tap water is not suitable - can be easily prepared with osmosis water and an appropriate mineral salt) they can be kept without problems and reproduce well. Even for informed beginners these German offspring are good to keep and breed. - Garnelio

Description

Here you get red-white Red Bees respectively Red Bee Shrimp of the species Caridina logemanni from German breeding(DNZ). They belong to the classes K6 and K8. Internationally these markings are called Grade S, or also Tiger Tooth, V-Band, Hinomaru and No-Entry. In the Tiger Tooth pattern, the large red stripe on the abdomen is extended downward into two points, between which white coloration may be visible. In the V-band, it is only one tip. Hinomaru is the name of the Japanese flag. Here the red stripe on the abdomen is reduced to a thick dot on the surrounded by white. In the No-Entry Sign, this dot is interrupted by a white horizontal stripe, which looks like the no-entry sign on the one-way street.

Red Bee Shrimp grow between 2.5 and 3.5 inches long, with females growing larger than the smaller and less chubby males. Overall, the bee shrimp is a peaceful and relatively uncomplicated group animal. We recommend a starting stocking of 10 to 20 animals, depending on aquarium size. With other color varieties of the bee shrimp like the Black Bee or also the Snow White you can keep them well together, but you risk a mixing of the color, which results in the well-known brownies. It is also possible to keep them with other soft water shr imp with similar water requirements. Although in a species tank more offspring come through, the bee shrimp can also be kept together with small peaceful fish, which do not chase the offspring. Also with peaceful snails, which get along in soft water, a socialization is possible.

In nature, wild bee shrimp live in temperate climates in exceptionally soft, very clean and oxygen-rich water in mountain streams at fairly low temperatures around 16 to 24 °C. The Red Bee Shrimp also tolerates harder water for a while, but then it becomes very difficult with offspring. We therefore recommend keeping them in soft water with a carbonate hardness of 0 to 2. Tap water is usually not suitable here, in these cases you should then resort to osmosis water and a suitable mineral salt . Active Soil can additionally buffer the water values in the optimal range for the Red Bee Shrimp, neutral substrate is also possible. Also with the decoration it should be paid attention that stones etc. do not harden the water, thus no lime contain. 10 to 30% water change per week is a good guideline, the temperatures should not rise above 25°C permanently . In hot summers the aquarium should be cooled with an appropriate device, a heater is normally not necessary. Nano aquariums from 10 liters are suitable for keeping, although we recommend at least 20 liters, especially for beginners and for permanent keeping.

Red Bee shrimp graze algae and biofilms all day long, take care of food remains and dead plant parts, but they also like to take special shrimp food, brown autumn leaves as permanent food and for example pumpkin chips or spinach. If you want to breed successfully, you should supplement this diet two to three times a week with a suitable protein food .

If the environmental conditions are suitable, the bee shrimp is easy to keep and breed. If you have several aquariums at your disposal, you can also try to propagate certain pattern variants. The females release up to 40 baby shrimp after four to six weeks of gestation, which should be provided with dust food to grow up successfully.

Our food recommendation: NatureHolic's soft mainfeed softpads are designed for daily feeding. They contain all the nutrients shrimp need for shell development, egg formation and growth. During the production we pay attention to a gentle and environmentally friendly production, in which the vitamins and other valuable ingredients are preserved as far as possible.

Our plant recommendation: Use for the planting NatureHolic InVitros. These are free of snails, planaria and other unwanted co-inhabitants. Also free of algae spores, bacteria and fungi.

Expert Tip: We recommend for fish keeping the NatureHolic 3 Phase Liquid. The care set offers the best all-round protection for your animals. It ensures optimal conditions for successful breeding and keeping.
