Vesicularia ferriei Weeping Moss - NatureHolic InVitro

The Weeping Moss (Vesicularia ferriei) from Southeast Asia stands out due to its overhanging growth. It looks beautiful on higher roots or stones, from where it grows down like a waterfall. With its beautiful sap green color, this aquarium moss sets great accents in the middle ground on the hardscape, but you can also let the shoots grow creeping in the foreground along the substrate. Weeping moss branches out nicely and the cushions become dense. Thanks to its adhesive organelles, it grows firmly on the substrate. First, however, it should be tied or glued on. The bright shoot tips look like small points of light - another beautiful detail.

This Weeping Moss comes from tissue culture and was grown in the lab. Like all InVitro plants for the aquarium, it needs no quarantine measures, it can be taken directly from the package and - after rinsing the transparent culture medium under running water - immediately introduced into the aquarium.

Weeping moss can also be cultivated in the terrarium or paludarium on the land part, if the air has sufficient humidity.

Weeping moss does not grow much in height due to its rather soft shoots. Therefore, when pruning, tend to take away rather little. The short sections can be glued onto new substrates (which is easier) or, with some skill, tied on. Propagation of weeping moss is quite easy through these sections.
