The mini parrot leaf Alternanthera reineckii "Mini" is found in South America in swamps, but it can also be kept under water all year round. The leaves of this sensational dwarf form of the red-leaved Alternanthera reineckii turn deep brown-red under at least medium light and a good supply of nutrients. The very compact bushes grow only 5-7 cm high and for this reason are perfect for the foreground in the aquarium. There are not many red-leaved foreground plants in the trade - yet another reason to choose the quite undemanding Alternanthera reineckii "Mini"!
You can replant shoots of the Mini Parrot Leaf that have fallen off during pruning. With the cutting method, the stem plant Alternanthera reineckii "Mini" can be easily propagated directly in the aquarium.
