The name "Super Red" is no exaggeration. The red-leaved low Ludwigia Ludwigia repens "Mini Super Red" is a real firecracker with its deep red leaves under good cultivation conditions. It even gets along with medium light. The Mini Super Red is ideal in the middle ground of large to small aquariums, either in an otherwise pure green aquarium as an eye-catcher or as a dark red splash of color in a variegated aquarium. An eye-catcher is this great plant in any case!
Despite the species name "repens", which means "creeping", the underwater form of the Mini Super Red Ludwigia grows loosely upright, only the land form has prostrate shoots. Because Ludwigia repens "Mini Super Red" stays relatively low, it fits especially well in nano tanks for which other red-leaved Ludwigias such as Ludwigia "Ruby" grow too large.
Ludwigia repens Mini Super Red is a very easy to cultivate red-leaved plant that does not even need additional CO2 fertilization and copes very well with different growing conditions in the aquarium.
Also for a planting in the garden pond, gladly also growing out towards the pond edge, this Ludwigia is suitable. In sufficient water depth it is even hardy in a pond that does not freeze through.
Ludwigia repens "Mini Super Red" is propagated by cuttings: separate side shoots or the central shoot from the plant and stick them into the substrate, done. The plants quickly take root and grow well. Pruning is also well tolerated by the old plants.
This beautiful red-leaved InVitro grown Ludwigia comes from a plant science lab where it was grown in a cup. It is free of surprises such as algae, worms, snails and other unwelcome guests in the aquarium, and thanks to the cultivation in the laboratory, it did not need to be treated with pesticides, it is guaranteed pesticide-free and can also be immediately placed in a shrimp aquarium. Before planting, first carefully remove the culture medium from the root system with the help of running water.
