The Mini Parrot Leaf Alternanthera reineckii "Mini" is actually a marsh plant and can also grow under water. This is a beautiful, expressive dwarf form of the red-leaved Alternanthera reineckii, whose leaves turn a deep brown-red color when sufficient light and nutrients are available. The bushes remain very compact and grow only 5-25 cm tall, making them a perfect fit for the foreground of the aquarium. There aren't many red-leaved foreground plants for this part, so it's even nicer that Alternanthera reineckii "Mini" is also quite easy to care for.

The Montecarlo Pearlwort Micranthemum sp. "Montecarlo", which comes to us from South America, is a beautiful, relatively robust and frugal ground cover. Its rounded leaflets are a bright light green, and the branched shoots of this stem plant grow relatively long but prostrate, so they quickly form a great dense carpet in the foreground. Micranthemum sp. "Montecarlo" does not grow very tall at 5-7 inches. If the carpet becomes too thick, the plant can be cut back vigorously. When planting, it is best to stick several stems as a bundle into the substrate, leaving a few centimeters of space between each bundle. The medium fast growing plant closes the gaps relatively quickly, and you will soon have a beautiful green carpet in the foreground of the aquarium.

Cut shoots of pearlwort as well as mini parrot leaf can be replanted. This makes it easy to propagate them, as with all stem plants in the aquarium.
