Hemianthus glomeratus - Whorled Pearlwort - NatureHolic InVitro

The whorled-leaved pearlwort is a dainty stem plant originating in the USA. Before it could be correctly identified it was also known in the hobby as Micranthemum micranthemoides or Hemianthus micranthemoides. Due to its small size, Hemainthus glomeratus, as it is now finally called, is great for small bushy eye-catchers in the aquarium. It is also possible to grow it submerged, but then it remains smaller and forms more of a ground-covering growth but also small white flowers.

The pearlwort is propagated via cuttings, which are simply cut off with sharp scissors and replanted. It forms small elongated leaves with an elliptical shape that grow to just z one centimeter long and 4 mm wide. Undemanding in care and with a height of only 20 cm, the Hemianthus is also well suited for nano aquariums and can also be maintained by beginners. From time to time it is also called ornamental pearlwortor American pearlwort.

Since the Whorled Pearlwort was grown in a laboratory, it is absolutely germ-free and sterile. It brings no stowaways such as snails, algae, germs, planarians or parasites and was cultivated without pesticides. Rinse the culture medium under running water and place the individual shoots a little distance apart in the substrate or stick them on.
