Native to Southeast Asia, primarily Thailand, Hygrophila corymbosa "Siamensis" is a classic, time-tested aquarium plant. As an easy-to-care-for stem plant for the middle ground of very tall aquariums and for the background, the Siamese Water Lily is a good choice. With its large, broad light green leaves, the sturdy cherry leaf looks beautiful, especially when used with fine-feathered plants. With plenty of light and good fertilization, the shoot tips turn a light bronze color.
Thanks to its fast growth, Hygrophila corymbosa "Siamensis" deprives algae of their food basis.
The Siamese Water Lily should be cut back regularly. The cut shoots can be planted as head cut tings in the substrate and quickly form new roots, the old plants sprout again at the cut and thus quickly become bushy. Pruning, which is necessary more often due to the good growth rate, is easily tolerated.
This aquarium plant is especially effective when cut back at various heights to create tiered bushes.
In an open aquarium, Thai Water Lily can be allowed to grow out of the water. With a little luck, the plant will even bloom this way.
This Siamese Water Lily comes from the laboratory. Since it was grown in vitro, it can be used immediately in aquariums with sensitive stock such as dwarf shrimp. It is free of snails, algae, pathogens and of course pollutants.
Our recommendation: For a splendid plant growth we recommend the use of the NatureHolic fertilizer series and for new set up the Premium Nutrient Substrate NatureHolic GroundBooster.
