The flame moss Taxiphyllum sp. "Flame" gets its name from its growth habit: indeed, the vertically upward growing, slightly spirally twisted shoots look as if green flames are flickering. Flame moss looks really beautiful when tied or glued in a ribbon shape, for example on a thinner branch of an aquarium root. Also great as a flame accent in the foreground of the aquarium! Flame Moss has adhesive organs and grows by itself adhering well to the substrate. The exact species of this interesting, rather light green moss has not yet been determined.
Flame moss needs a little more light than other mosses to develop its characteristic growth.
This InVitro Flame Moss comes from the laboratory. You can use it directly in the aquarium, because due to the cultivation method no pesticides are used. You will also look in vain for crawling animals such as snails or worms in the plant pots of the InVitros. The Flame Moss is simply taken out of the package, the culture medium should be carefully rinsed under running water, then the moss is ready for use in your aquarium.
By the way, Flame Moss also fits perfectly on the overwater part in the wet terrarium or in the paludarium or waterfall aquarium.
Propagation of Flame Moss is also not difficult: the pads are either divided, or the longest shoots are cut off and tied up elsewhere.
Expert Tip: With the NatureHolic plant glue you stick this plant gently and easily on stones, roots and decoration . Made in Germany, the adhesive does not pollute the water and has no negative impact on the stock.
