Basin placement: | Middle ground |

Genus: | Anubias |
Height: | yes |
The spear leaf Anubias barteri was tied here on a root with suction cup. With this, the height can be optimally structured in the aquarium, which is very convenient for crayfish and shrimp.
Anubias originate from West Africa and are found there mainly on hard substrates such as rocks or fallen tree trunks in the splash water area of fast flowing streams, they also live submerged for a long time during floods and can therefore also be kept very well permanently in the aquarium.
The dark green foliage of Anubias barteri forms a great contrast to light green plants. The plant can be cultivated ideally if it is tied up, but it should not be planted in the substrate, as its rhizome could rot here.
The frugal, slow-growing Anubias barteri is considered to be perch-proof and will not be touched by most other herbivores. It requires little light and does well in shaded areas.
Its propagation is as uncomplicated as its keeping - simply cut off a piece of the rhizome with at least 2 leaves attached and tie it onto a piece of wood or stone, done.
Anubias barteri is also excellent to grow on the land part of an ever-humid terrarium.
Our recommendation: For a splendid plant growth we recommend the use of the NatureHolic fertilizer series and for new plants the Premium Nutrient Substrate NatureHolic GroundBooster.
Expert Tip: With the NatureHolic plant glue you stick this plant gently and uncomplicated on stones, roots and decoration . Made in Germany, the adhesive does not pollute the water and has no negative impact on the stock.
