from over 3,000 reviews "The Red Wood Giant Tower Snail comes from Sulawesi. It is a not yet determined species from the genus Tylomelania. This colorfully very interesting snail has a reddish-brown, nicely sculptured shell and a relatively typical for Tylomelania patterned body with stripes and spots, but not as so often with yellow or gray accents, but with reddish-orange. The body very often shows abrasions and scrapings. It comes like this already from the biotope, offspring have a uniform shell. The wear is neither harmful nor disturbing for the snail.
The Red Wood Giant Tower Snail reaches a length of 4 to 5 centimeters. The animals are separately sexual, but the males cannot be distinguished from the females by external characteristics. If you want to breed, you should keep a larger group of at least five animals. The Red Wod Giant Lidded Snail is a viviparous species. The young develop in the mother's brood pouch and are born individually as they mature. This occurs every few weeks. The juveniles grow up in fresh water in the aquarium, the adults do not harm them.
The Red Wood Giant Tower Snail is a very peaceful, active snail. It can be socialized with all sorts of equally peaceful aquarium inhabitants that have similar water quality requirements.
The Red Wood Giant Turret Snail will not go for healthy plants and is otherwise an omnivore. She likes vegetables and catfish tablets, but also likes to eat brown Autumn Leavesother food, food remains and dead plant parts.
The animals come from Sulawesi, but unlike the shrimps from there, the Tylomelania snails are much more tolerant when it comes to water values. They need a pH above 7.5 and medium to hard water. A temperature range of 20 to 27 °C is good for the Red Wood Giant Tylomelania snail.
Our food recommendation: With the Natureholic Snail Feed Power Paste you create a feeding lawn that is very well accepted by all growth eating snails. Even delicate wild-caught snails such as racing snails or staghorn snails, which are stressed after transport and do not accept conventional food, can be fed up well with it.
Our plant recommendation: Use for planting NatureHolic InVitros. These are free of snails, planarians and other unwanted co-inhabitants. Also free of algae spores, bacteria and fungi.
Expert Tip: We recommend for fish keeping the NatureHolic 3 Phase Liquid. The care set offers the best all-round protection for your animals. It ensures optimal conditions for successful breeding and keeping.
Actively prevent outbreaks: With the invisible Natureholic Snail Barrier you prevent the escape and loss of your snails from the aquarium.
