Javafarn (Microsorum pteropus) is a beautiful perching plant from tropical Asia, which impresses with its long, deep green leaves. Optimally, Javafarn grows as here tied up on a root piece. The rhizome should not be placed in the substrate, as it can begin to rot when oxygen is cut off, which would be the end of the beautiful plant. However, if the lateral roots grow into the soil, this is not a problem.
Java fern grows relatively slowly and does very well in aquariums with less light.
The root piece with the water fern tied on can be used for decoration in the middle ground of aquariums and aquascapes, for example, but it can also be used in a sparsely planted shrimp breeding tank. If animals are to be specifically caught out, it can be removed easily and without effort.
Java fern is propagated by dividing the rhizome. To do this, cut off a small piece with sharp scissors or a sharp knife. Make sure there are at least two leaves on it so it will sprout safely.
The tied-on java fern can also be installed quite wonderfully in the land part of an aquaterrarium with an appropriate humidity.
Our recommendation: For a splendid plant growth we recommend the use of the NatureHolic fertilizer series and for new plants the Premium Nutrient Substrate NatureHolic GroundBooster.
Expert tip: With the NatureHolic plant glue glue this plant gently and easily on stones, roots and decoration . Made in Germany, the adhesive does not pollute the water and has no negative impact on the stock.
