Its shell is conspicuously pointed and has a very long backward extension. The color varies from light brown to dark brown, the tip of the shell is often white and shows small signs of wear. However, this does not harm the snail, the first circumferences are completely empty. The shell is finely sculptured and shows pretty, not very deep spiral grooves. Stenomelania torulosa becomes over 10 cm long in the aquarium. The namesake long nose immediately catches the eye. Which snail is a male and which is a female cannot be distinguished externally.
Stenomelania torulosa releases live larvae, but they need seawater to develop. Therefore, this beautiful snail cannot reproduce in the aquarium.
